Learning more about the threats religious sites are facing and the ways you can protect your place of worship or religious school from them is critical. Being proactive now may be the difference between a threat and an attack.

Radnor Township Police are offering just such an opportunity to discuss and understand the threats and resources available in our battle to protect religious freedom. The free seminar will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 6:45pm to 9:30pm. at the  Radnor Township Municipal Building located at 301 Iven Avenue in Wayne, Pennsylvania, 19087.

The seminar entitled, “Safety & Security for Religious Institutions and Schools in Today’s World”  is free and being hosted by Radnor Police Superintendent William  Colarulo. I will be joining the discussion along with Radnor Police Lieutenants Andrew Block & Christopher Flanagan, Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan, FBI Domestic Terrorism experts and Montgomery County CID Detective Lieutenant Michael Gilbert.

Organizational Leaders and the public are invited to attend this free presentation with the goal being to increase awareness of the dangers faced, and the resources available, for you to protect your worshipers and students.

I am also providing the FBI guide to developing plans to protect houses of worship here on my blog. Take a moment to read through it and see what the threats are and what others are doing as best practices. Consider how your organization could benefit from hosting a training on how you would manage a threat. As with all resources, always consult with your local Police or Homeland Security Officials to customize any plans to fit your needs
